Turaks Voice continues, asking Suroth by what right does she get to make decisions over her Lord Commander. Suroth replies that perhaps Turak made a mistake. Turak says he does not make mistakes and that the mission is to unite all people under the Empress to fight the Shadow, which Suroth has jeopardized by taking Falme, which they cannot hold.

The stablemaster comes in and confronts them. Moiraine shows her Aes Sedai ring and says she's commandeering the horses in the name of the White Tower. The stablemaster balks at giving them the horses, but Moiraine tells her that she's coming with them and to have the horses saddled in two minutes or she'll regret this night for the rest of her life. The stablemaster starts saddling the horses. Moiraine takes Rand's sword and kills the leftover horse, saying that she can't give Lanfear a way to follow them. They ride.
Lanfear enters stable, sees dead horse. An Older Man appears. Lanfear asks about road, which he says leads to Tar Valon, kills man, takes his horse, complains about the speed of horses ("Is there anything slower than a horse") and rides after Moiraine and Rand.

They argue about who's in Perrin's pack and finally Perrin leaves Elyas and the wolves to find his friends.

Perrin is walking along a lake away from Atuan's Mill and Hopper catches up trying to change his mind. Perrin sees a vision of dead Uno in a cage which convinces him to go back to Atuan's Mill but Hopper must stay back.
Perrin enters Atuan's Mill. He finds Uno's body in a cage, looks around for a tool to help him open the cage, and grabs a hammer. He's about to swing the hammer when an Aiel in another cage, Aviendha, warns him that it will be loud. Dain Bornhald, wearing a long closed, cloak, appears and warns him not to get too close to the Aiel's cage because last person almost lost their arm. He then throws a water pouch atop her cage. Perrin asks Dain if the Seanchan soldiers caged her and Dain realizes that Perrin has met "the strangers." Dain tells Perrin that there's a curfew and leads Perrin to an inn.
Dain and Perrin chat while they're walking to the inn. Dain recognizes Perrin's clothing as being from the Two Rivers but also notices that Perrin's on the wrong side of the Mountains of Mist.
Sitting down to drinks, Perrin again presses Dain on what Aviendha did to end up in the cage. Dain simply says that she wandered into the wrong town at the wrong time and hints that they are going to kill her. The barkeep's dog comes out to greet Perrin, something the barkeep says never happens. Perrin hears a voice and notices a Whitecloak passing nearby. Perrin says he wants to go to his room. Dain asks the barkeep to make up a room for him. The barkeep responds with "Yes, Child Bornhald" and Perrin catches a glimpse of Dain's Whitecloak clothes under his cloak. As Perrin leaves for his room, Dain tells Perrin that he hopes he'll get back home, calling him "Two Rivers".
While the barkeep is walking Perrin to his room, Perrin asked what happened to the previous owner, Missus Amudee and the barkeep replies that she followed the caravan that took her granddaughter. He also says that the Whitecloaks pushed out the Seanchan a couple of days ago, but he feels that the town was better off before that because once you swear their oaths, they leave you alone. Perrin then hears Valda tell Dain that "she was to be given nothing." Perrin peeks out the window and sees Valda dropping the water pouch back onto the table. Dain tells Valda that it took 11 of Valda's Questioners to take her spears and another five to cage her and that she'll take double that number before she submits to his questions. Valda asks Dain about whether it's coincidence that Aiel this far west of the Spine and the Seanchan are all here at the same place at the same time and that his questions will reveal answers. He further notes that the Seanchan have established a base in Falme.
Scene 9 - Stablemaster Meets Lanfear / I Won't Tell Nobody / They'll Have To Sleep Eventually (Start: 00:19:29)#

Liandrin goes into the history of the Three Oaths telling how a thousand years ago a great king threatened to burn down the White Tower unless the Aes Sedai bound themselves to the Oaths. Nynaeve realizes that Liandrin was not trying to recruit her for the Red Ajah, but for the Dark One. While Nynaeve swears she'll never serve the Dark, Liandrin says every woman has their price. Aviendha asks why Perrin is releasing her and he responds that people shouldn't be in cages. Aviendha leaves the cage and introduces herself and Perrin introduces himself. They start to leave but Whitecloaks surround them. Dain appears and reminds Perrin that he told him not to help her. A fight ensues and all the Whitecloaks except Dain are knocked out or killed, mostly due to Aviendha. She takes Dain's axe away and is about to kill him with it when Perrin yells at her to wait. He reminds her that Dain gave her water. She relents and both leave Atuan's Mill.

Rand and Moiraine are walking quickly through Cairhien. Moiraine says they need food, clothing and fast horses so that they can continue to ride for a few more days to put distance between them and Lanfear. Rand notes that they'll need sleep, but Moiraine says that would be very dangerous. When asked why, Moiraine explains that Lanfear is known for her casual cruelty and her mastery of Tel'aran'rhiod. Rand asks her if she can keep them awake using the One Power, but she can't.
They enter a building.
Scene 15 - Rand, Moiraine, Anvaere and Barthanes (Start: 00:32:51)#
Rand and Moiraine enter Anvaere (Show)'s house. The butler, Jhonas notices that Moiraine is injured, but she asks where her sister is. He says that she's in the kitchen with her nephew. Moiraine goes there with Rand not far behind.
When they enter the kitchen, Anvaere (Show) and Barthanes are busy with the royal wedding tasting. Barthanes gets up to greet his aunt, noting that he hadn't seen her in a long time but she still looks the same. Barthanes assumes that Rand is Moiraine's Warder, but she explains that he's not and introduces him as just Rand. Anvaere (Show) says that they've already met, which causes Moiraine to give Rand a questioning look. Moiraine tells them that they need two horses and Anvaere (Show) says that she'll have them brought to the house. The horses are a gift from Queen Galldrian, whom Barthanes will be marrying, which will make him a king. Moiraine says she's going upstairs to clean up, and asks for a meal and some clothes for Rand. Barthanes offers some of his clothes.
Scene 16 - Meditations (Start: 00:34:59)#
Verin comes to visit Sheriam and asks about the whereabouts of Egwene and Nynaeve. Sheriam says that they're probably doing chores, but Verin corrects her, saying she can't find them anywhere on the Tower grounds and that Elayne is also missing. Sheriam goes through her books and finds that the three were signed out the other day with the note that they were going to Elayne's house in Caemlyn, accompanied by some of Queen Morgase's soldiers. Sheriam seems to have forgotten this, though, which Verin notes is unusual, and Sheriam agrees.
Verin also asks about a book entitled "Meditations on the Kindling Flame". Sheriam says it's in her room and asks if Verin needs it. Verin tells her that just needs it for a section on the Amyrlin Tetsuan. Sheriam heads to her room with Verin following. Soon after they leave, Yassica enters the room, scans through Sheriam's book, and finds something interesting.
Scene 17 - Tremors (Start: 00:37:52)#
Yassica tells Verin that in Sheriam's book, there's a notation saying that Elayne's departure is for attending Gawyn's name day celebration. Yassica noted that there was a slight tremor in the notation. Verin asks if the tremor was due to Sheriam being under Compulsion. Yassica seems shocked by the suggestion, stating that such a thing would break the Three Oaths which would mean then that someone in the Tower is a Darkfriend and that the Black Ajah really exists. Verin tasks Yassica with finding the name of every Aes Sedai who left the Tower for any reason over the past few days.
Scene 18 - Liandrin, Suroth and the girls (Start: 00:39:20)#
Liandrin opens a Waygate to Falme and leads out three horses with Elayne, Egwene and Nynaeve unconscious and bound atop each horse. Waiting for them is Suroth and her entourage. Liandrin hands the reins over to Seanchan (Country) warriors, who take the girls off the horses and put them on the ground nearby. Suroth complains that Liandrin is hours late and Liandrin says that she expected Ishamael to be present. Liandrin says that what they do to channelers is an abomination and Suroth says that the Seanchan (People) respect One Power so much that they believe that no one should wield it and that the sul'dam train for years and earn their right to wield the One Power unlike the Aes Sedai. She continues, stating that all marath'damane will be eventually leashed.
Liandrin enters the Waygate, but not before weaving enough to burn away Nynaeve's bindings.
Suroth commands her people to bring the girls to her and Elayne manages to weave fire which allows them to get to their feet and run away. The damane give chase and Elayne and Nynaeve escape, but Egwene is nowhere to be found.
Egwene is shown nearby being bound by damane weaves.
Scene 19 - Perrin and Aviendha (Start: 0:42:52)#
Perrin, Aviendha and Hopper are at a campfire, cooking dinner. Aviendha remarks that Perrin doesn't "dance the spears" badly. Perrin say he thought that Aiel never left the Aiel Waste. She corrects him, saying that that's the wetlanders term, but for the Aiel, it's called the "Three-Fold Land." A shaping stone to make them, a testing ground to prove their worth and a punishment for a (unknown and long lost) sin. Aviendha tells Perrin that she left there because she's looking for the "Car'a'carn" (the chief of chiefs). Aviendha is staying with Perrin, though, because she owes him "toh", which is part of the Aiel way of life called "ji'e'toh". She owes him this because he saved her life. In response to her question, Perrin says he's headed to Falme.
Scene 20 - Into Falme (Start: 00:44:42)#
Nynaeve and Elayne have joined a caravan and are entering a city. Elayne recognizes it as Falme, thousands of miles from the White Tower. Nynaeve remembers that it's where Liandin said Perrin and Loial are. Elayne tells Nynaeve not to draw attention to themselves, as the Seanchan will be looking for them here. Elayne realizes that the soldiers are complete foreigners. Nynaeve starts to walk off but Elayne stops her, telling her that they need to change their clothes. They continue to walk, but a large man knocks them out (add note: it's Basan).
Scene 21- White Asparagus (Start: 00:46:50)#
Liandrin is walking through the Tower with a backpack when she runs into Verin. Liandrin asks if Verin is finished writing her book and Verin says that she thought Liandrin was in Jurene hunting a possible male channeller, and Liandrin remarkes that it turned out to be nothing, but she did bring back some white asparagus from the village, which is a local delicacy and is only available at this time of year. Verin knows about it. Liandrin asks Verin what brings her back to the Tower and Verin says she was hoping to meet a couple of novices, Egwene and Nynaeve, but they're not in the Tower. Liandrin remarks that novices are not allowed to leave the Tower and Verin says that they've gone to a name day celebration in Caemlyn. Liandrin says a soldier at an inn told her that a royal envoy going to Caemlyn was attacked by either bandits or Whitecloaks. Liandrin urges Verin to come with her to talk to the Amyrlin about it.
Scene 22- Moiraine and Anvaere / Needing Protection / Excellent Advice (Start: 00:48:35)#
Moiraine is in her room relaxing and cleaning herself up. Anvaere knocks and enters, telling her that the horses are being saddled downstairs. Moiraine won't tell her how they arrived in such a disheveled state, but Anvaere helps her clean up. She also says, that knowing Moiraine her whole life, she can tell that Moiraine has no idea what to do next. Moiraine says that Rand needs protection, but she's not sure that she can give it to him, and even worse is if she makes the wrong choice, then Anvaere, Barthanes and all of Cairhien may be caught in the crossfire. Anvaere recalls a time when she was a child, that her older sister said that if something is upsetting you, or making you afraid, then ask yourself one question: is it true? Anvaere then asks Moiraine if she's positive that Rand needs her protection, which causes Moiraine to rethink the whole issue and admit that it was good advice. Moiraine then reconsiders staying there instead of riding off on the horses.
Scene 23 - Ishamael and Lanfear in dreamworld (Start: 00:52:17)#
Ishamael is dreaming that he's in bed and Rand is also there, sleeping. Ishamael moves closer and caresses Rand's face. However, it's revealed that it's just Lanfear masquerading as Rand in Ishamael's dream. She tells him that she's waiting for Rand to fall asleep. Ishamael complains about this Age being stuck with "swords and queens" even after 3,000 years.
Ishamael tells Lanfear that the reason the Dark One talks only to him is because he's the only Forsaken who believes that the only way to stop all the suffering is to break the Wheel itself.
Lanfear wonders why Ishamael released her, and it's because he knows what she really wants. Lanfear tells him that Rand, unlike Lews Therin, takes no pride in his birthright and rejects his own power. Ishamael tells her that Egwene craves power, but Nynaeve fears it. Also, that Mat was "born mine" and Perrin will soon be more wolf than man. Lanfear thinks that Rand will break if he sees that all of his friends are lost.
