- Hanlon is in the rebel camp working for Toram Riatin with other White Lions. (ACoS,Ch35)
- Moghedien sends Hanlon to Mili Skane in Caemlyn where he witnesses the execution of Jaichim Carridin and punishment of Falion. Mili Skane offers him a queen. (TPoD,Ch28)
- When three men attack Elayne, Doilin Mellar kills them saving Elayne's life. (WH,Ch9)
- Hanlon reports to Lady Shiaine that he has been promoted to Captain of the Queen's bodyguard. (WH,Ch10)
- Mellar admits Halwin Norry to see Elayne. (WH,Ch26)
- Unlike the other guards, Mellar does not seem to mind staying behind when Elayne visits the Borderlands rulers. (WH,Ch27)
- When eighty of Lord Luan's armsmen led by Jurad Accan are attacked by Lord Nasin's troops, Doilin Mellar leads a sortie to rescue them and bring them into Caemlyn. When he brags of his escapade to Elayne she chastises him for bringing armsmen into the city when Lord Luan has not yet sworn to her. (CoT,Ch11)
- Daved Hanlon pays a call to Lady Shiaine. On his way, an unknown assailant tries to kill him. He and Falion exchange information. Lady Shiaine instructs him to work harder at firing the grain warehouses and to see that some of the sul'dam in the Royal Palace escape. (CoT,Ch15)
- Doilin Mellar is with the three mercenaries requesting an audience with Elayne. (KoD,Ch14)
- Doilin Mellar is still in command of the Guardswomen under Birgitte. (KoD,Ch15)
- Mellar hopes to listen in on the mercenaries' audience with Elayne. He is clearly annoyed when she sends him away. (KoD,Ch16)
- Mellar visits the house on Full Moon Street four times in eleven days and Samwil Hark follows him. Hark reports to Elayne and she order the Guardswomen to arrest Mellar. (KoD,Ch31)
- Tired of his abusive treatment, the Guardswomen beat him severely when they arrest him. (KoD,Ch35)
- Mellar only shouts invective when he is questioned. (KoD,Ch35)
- Elayne disguises herself as a Forsaken and confronts Chesmal in the dungeons. Chesmal speaks of an assassination plan and an invasion. Jaq Lounalt frees the others and breaks in with Temaile and Eldrith. Doilin Mellar, Lady Shiaine, Marillin Gemalphin and Falion Bhoda are also freed. Chesmal, Eldrith, Temaile and Jaq Lounalt are killed. Mellar, Shiaine, Marillin and Falion escape. (ToM,Ch23, ToM,Ch24)
