[Perrin], [Aviendha] and [Hopper]
[Perrin], [Aviendha] and [Hopper] are at a campfire, cooking dinner. [Aviendha] remarks that [Perrin] doesn't "dance the spears" badly. [Perrin] say he thought that [Aiel] never left the [Aiel Waste]. She corrects him, saying that that's the wetlanders term, but for the [Aiel], it's called the "Three-Fold Land." A shaping stone to make them, a testing ground to prove their worth and a punishment for a (unknown and long lost) sin. [Aviendha] tells [Perrin] that she left there because she's looking for the "Car'a'carn" (the chief of chiefs). [Aviendha] is staying with [Perrin], though, because she owes him "toh", which is part of the [Aiel] way of life called "ji'e'toh". She owes him this because he saved her life.
