Moiraine asks where Bayle found the piece of [Cuendillar] and he says that the moon dial outside of [Cairhien (City)] shattered back in spring.
Bayle wants Moiraine to stop her people from following him. Moiraine noticies that there's writing on the [Cuendillar] and Bayle says that there was a whole poem written in blood on the moon dial in [Old Tongue]. He happens to have a copy of the poem. He offers 50 marks for the stone and one mark for the poem. She pulls out a one mark coin, gives it to him and then takes the poem, saying that's all she needs.

Moiraine asked about the men who are following him and he says he could never get a glimpse of their faces because their hoods covered their faces.
She tells him to get back on his boat, the [Spray], go back to [Illian|Illian (City)] and then travel out to see as far and fast as he can. He objects, saying that his boat is meant for river travel, not sea travel. She gives him 10 marks for provisions.
