TPoD: A Pleasant Ride

Elayne POV#

The Aes Sedai, Kin and Windfinders are north of the Rhannon Hills making their way to the farm. They ride past huge stones, a barefoot statue of a Shiotan warrior queen. There is a great deal of tension between the Sea Folk, the Kin and the Aes Sedai. Kurin did not deliver Aviendha's warning.[1] Aviendha complains to Kurin who complains to Renaile who sends a message to Elayne telling her to keep Aviendha under control.

Adeleas has a fancy new saddle. Flies avoid her despite her perfume.[2] Adeleas, Merilille, Vandene, Careane and Sareitha all ride together, followed by the Windfinders with the Kin bringing up the rear. Part of the Bowl bargain - the Sea Folk get the Bowl, twenty sisters will go to the Sea Folk to teach them and Windfinders will be welcome as guests in the White Tower. All of the Aes Sedai and all of the Kin but Kirstian (busy shielding Ispan) take turns approaching Elayne suggesting that Ispan's custody be passed to the Aes Sedai. Reanne suggests questioning her immediately. Chilares suggests that she might need Healing. Merilille suggests that the Kin are untrustworthy or even Darkfriends. Elayne loudly berates her for it. Sareitha says it is impossible for the Kin to be as old as they claim. Others of the Kin are Famelle, Eldase, Dimana, Ieine, Sumeko and Sibella. Elayne's horse is Lioness. There are other Kin not in Ebou Dar who are even older than Reanne! Nynaeve goes with Lan when he is scouting. Birgitte is scouting, too. They arrive at the farm.

Notes (Possible Spoilers)#

[#1] This was probably due to Renaile goading her through the gateway and not allowing her to speak. (TPoD,Ch1)
[#2] A hint that the "secret" Blue Ajah weave for controlling insects (NS,Ch21) may not be so secret.
