She is very short. (TFoH,Ch50) (Short enough to make Sarin Hoigan seem tall, she always minded Romanda of a large-eyed sparrow. There was nothing tiny about her powers of observation or her intellect, however. She had been a natural choice for the council the Ajahs created to try keeping an eye on Egwene, and it was certainly no fault of hers that said council had had little or no restraining effect on the woman.) Chronology (Possible Spoilers)#
- Three of the Yellow Ajah, Therva Maresis, Nisao Dachen and Dagdara Finchey are in the common room of the inn in Salidar after the Aes Sedai leaders are done with Nynaeve and Elayne. (TFoH,Ch50)
- Nisao refuses to even speak to Nynaeve until she gives up her foolish notion of trying to Heal Siuan and Leane. (LoC,Ch8)
- After Nynaeve Heals Logain, Sheriam, Romanda, Myrelle, Morvrin, Takima, Lelaine, Janya, Delana, Bharatine, Beonin, Varilin and Nisao all pile into the small room to see what happened. A dozen Yellow Ajah sisters including Nisao, Dagdara, Shanelle, Therva and Beldemaine follow Nynaeve into the Little Tower and witness her Healing Siuan and Leane. (LoC,Ch30)
- Nisao nervously agrees to help Myrelle try to Heal Lan when he arrives. (LoC,Ch52)
- Nisao and Myrelle have been keeping Lan for twenty days. Myrelle talked her into helping because she is interested in illnesses of the mind. She swears fealty to Egwene. (ACoS,Ch12)
- Egwene sends Sheriam, Carlinya, Morvrin and Nisao to talk to the Sitters in preparation for the meeting with the Andoran nobles. (TPoD,Ch15)

- Anaiya, Beonin, Carlinya, Morvrin, Myrelle, Nisao, Sheriam and their Warder accompany Egwene and Gareth Bryne when they scout Tar Valon. Nisao is annoyed when she hears that Magla supports negotiations. (CoT,Ch16)
- Egwene and her party return to the Salidar Aes Sedai camp. Her Council members go to report to the heads of their respective Ajahs. (CoT,Ch17)
- Egwene's Council accompanies her to the meeting of the Hall. Nisao gives advice on what the Sitters might do. (CoT,Ch19)
- Early the next morning Nisao reports to Egwene that Anaiya and Setagana were murdered with saidin sometime in the night. (CoT,Ch20)
- Nisao reports to Egwene that Kairen was murdered. (CoT,Ch30)
- Nisao has been ousted from the inner circle including Beonin, Carlinya, Morvrin, Myrelle and Sheriam. (KoD,Ch1)
- Lelaine orders Nisao to stop her investigation into the deaths of Anaiya and Kairen. Nisao asks Romanda to intervene. (KoD,Ch23)
- Faolain, Theodrin, Myrelle and Nisao are all sent with the embassy to the Black Tower. (TGS,Ch45)
