[Jac|jac_alseen] and [Elisa al'Seen|../characters/e/elisa_alseen] present him to their guests as Lord [Luc of Chiendelna|../characters/l/luc]. He recognizes [Verin|Verin Mathwin] as [Aes Sedai] and is nervous about her.[1] She asks about his House name saying it has a [Borderlands] sound.[2] He replies that it is in [Murandy|../../geography/murandy/index]. He is shocked at the sight of [Perrin|Perrin Aybara].[3] [Faile|Zarine Bashere] seems impressed with him and [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] is jealous. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] chides them about letting the [Whitecloaks|Children of the Light] run their lives to avoid the [Trollocs]. He convinces them that they should go to [Emond's Field|Emonds Field] and join forces. [Jac al'Seen] and [Flann Lewin|../characters/f/flann_lewin] are resistant at first, but come around to [Perrin|Perrin Aybara]'s plan. [Luc|Luc Mantear] leaves, clearly miffed. [Jac|jac_alseen] says they will leave as soon as they can pack and will spend the night at [Jon Gaelin|../characters/j/jon_gaelin]'s farm. [Verin|Verin Mathwin] compliments [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] and says it was ''[ta'veren|Wheel of Time]'' in action. She asks if [Rand|Rand alThor] has the sword and he tells her that he does.[4] She then warns him to watch himself with [Alanna|Alanna Mosvani]. There are lots of "designs" in the [White Tower] and many of them could make use of a ''[ta'veren|Wheel of Time]''.[4] [Verin|Verin Mathwin] moves away and [Faile|Zarine Bashere] joins him. Four of the older boys decide to join them. [Faile|Zarine Bashere] and [Tomas] nod in approval, but [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] just says what he thinks [Uno|Uno Nomesta] would say. Just before they reach [Watch Hill], they all gather in a dense thicket. After scouting the [Whitecloak|Children of the Light] camp, they wait until nightfall. [Faile|Zarine Bashere] makes a crown of flowers for [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] causing [Bain] to chuckle.[5] [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] then leads [Faile|Zarine Bashere], [Gaul], [Bain] and [Chiad] on the rescue mission. They reach the tent with the prisoners and free [Alsbet Luhhan|../characters/a/alsbet_luhhan], [Haral Luhhan|../characters/h/h_luhhan] and [Eldrin|eldrin_cauthon], [Bodewhin|bodewhin_cauthon] and [Natti Cauthon|../characters/n/natti_cauthon]. As they leave the camp, they hear horns begin to blow and rush back to the thicket. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] sends [Tam|Tam alThor], [Abell|Abell Cauthon], [Faile|Zarine Bashere], the [Aiel], [Hu Marwin|../characters/h/hu_marwin] and [Jaim Torfinn|../characters/j/jaim_torfinn] to hide the rescued people in a nearby abandoned farmhouse. [Verin|Verin Mathwin] agrees to [channel|True Source] up a rainstorm. Then [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] and the others ride south making lots of noise to decoy the [Whitecloaks|Children of the Light]. He says the next thing to do is hunt [Trollocs].
