In the [wolf dream|TelAranRhiod], [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] scouts the [Two Rivers] south toward [Deven Ride]. He spots some ravens and follows them into the [Mountains of Mist]. Back at the [Waygate|Ways], he notices that there is now only one leaf on the door. The door is open meaning someone, or something, is passing through. He senses someone watching him and ducks just as an arrow passes. He circles around and spots [Slayer|Isam Mandragoran]. [Slayer|Isam Mandragoran] moves and [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] follows him into the [Westwood|Two Rivers]. [Slayer|Isam Mandragoran] begins speaking, telling [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] that lots of [Shadowspawn] died at the locked [Waygate|Ways], but it is now open and more are coming. At first he only brought a few hundred "to keep those fool [Whitecloaks|Children of the Light] off balance and see that the renegade[1] died." [Perrin|Perrin Aybara]'s presence was a surprise. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] recognizes that this might be a trap, so he tries to wake up. [Ila|ila]'s potion prevents him from waking. He finds himself back in the [Tinkers]' camp with [Faile|Zarine Bashere], so he just enjoys the moment.

[Perrin|Perrin Aybara] finally wakes to find [Faile|Zarine Bashere] and [Ihvon] in the wagon with him. He tells them about the [Waygate|Ways]. They convince him that he is too badly wounded to do anything but go to [Emond's Field|Emonds Field]. [Ihvon] leaves to tell everyone that they are leaving, then [Ila] enters with his clothes. They help him out of the wagon where the [Two Rivers] men are waiting. [Wil al'Seen], [Ban al'Seen],[2] [Dannil|Dannil Lewin] and his cousin [Tell|Tell Lewin] are there. The [Tinker|Tinkers] women danced the tiganza for them last night. [Faile|Zarine Bashere] says that dance is nothing compared to the [Saldaean|Saldaea] sa'sara. [Raen] comes to bid them farewell. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] invites the [Tinkers] to come to [Emond's Field|Emonds Field] but they refuse. [Aram] stands to one side frowning.
