In 957 NE, Lord Captain Commander Pedron Niall attempted to widen the influence of the Children of the Light by invading Altara. He was opposed by forces of Altara, Illian and Murandy. He was eventually defeated, but not before capturing and ransoming King Mattin Stepaneos in the Battle of Soremaine. During the Whitecloak War, the town of Salidar was abandoned. (Guide)
