[Bethamin|Bethamin Zeami] and [Renna|Renna Emain] are inspecting the %%ot [damane|Seanchan (People)]%% in the kennel in the [Tarasin Palace]. [Renna|Renna Emain] used to be [Suroth|Suroth Sabelle Meldarath]'s best trainer, but now she is cowed. [Bethamin|Bethamin Zeami] threatens to report [Renna|Renna Emain] to [Essonde] for laziness. [Bethamin|Bethamin Zeami] marks down a suggestion for [Zushi], one of the [Sea Folk] %%ot [damane|Seanchan (People)]%% who cries constantly. She also marks down a suggestion that [Tessi|Teslyn Baradon] have harsher training. [Bethamin|Bethamin Zeami] does not trust the ex-[Aes Sedai]. When they are done, [Bethamin|Bethamin Zeami] tells [Renna|Renna Emain] to take both of their reports to [Essonde|essonde]. [Bethamin|Bethamin Zeami] found [Renna|Renna Emain] and [Seta|Seta Zarbey] collared in [Falme]. She fled in terror, only to be captured herself by [Egeanin|Egeanin Tamarath] in [Tanchico]. She figures [Alwhin] later found them as they are now in personal service to [Suroth|Suroth Sabelle Meldarath]. 

[Bethamin|Bethamin Zeami] is from the village of [Abunai|Seanchan (Country)] on the Sea of [L'Heye|Seanchan (Country)]. As she walks back to her inn, [Bethamin|Bethamin Zeami] is excited at the prospect of [Tuon|Tuon Athaem Kore Paendrag] revealing herself as the [Daughter of the Nine Moons|Tuon]. When she arrives at [The Golden Swans of Heaven], the innkeeper, [Darnella Shoran], tells her she does not like her guests having male visitors. 

When [Bethamin|Bethamin Zeami] reaches her room, she finds the [Seeker|Almurat Mor] reading her diary. He asks for brandy and [Bethamin|Bethamin Zeami] gives him some of [Iona]'s, her roommate. He learned that [Bethamin|Bethamin Zeami] was asking after [Egeanin Sarna|Egeanin Tamarath]. The [Seeker|Almurat Mor] tells her to renew her acquaintance with [Egeanin|Egeanin Tamarath] and report back to him. He explains his theory that [Egeanin|Egeanin Tamarath], [Suroth|Suroth Sabelle Meldarath] and [Bayle Domon] are in league. They are responsible for High Lord [Turak|Turak Aladon]'s death at [Falme] and are plotting something with the [Aes Sedai] of this land.[1] [Bethamin|Bethamin Zeami] has no choice but to agree to help the [Seeker|Almurat Mor].
