[Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] is in the sunroom of the [Sun Palace]. [Harine din Togara Two Winds] and her [Sailmistress|Sea Folk], [Derah din Selaan Rising Wave], are meeting with her demanding the return of [Shalon|Shalon din Togara Morning Tide]. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] is annoyed with the [Sea Folk] and also annoyed with [Dobraine|Dobraine Taborwin] for complaining about the bargain [Rafela|Rafela Cindal] and [Merana|Merana Ambrey] made with them. [Daigian|Daigian Moseneillin] is there with [Eben|Eben Hopwil]. [Nesune|Nesune Bihara], [Sarene|Sarene Nemdahl], [Erian|Erian Boroleos], [Beldeine|Beldeine Nyram] and [Elza|Elza Penfell] pass the time by the fireplace. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] is still puzzled as to why they swore allegiance to [Rand|Rand alThor]. [Verin|Verin Mathwin] and [Sorilea] enter; [Verin|Verin Mathwin] wears a [flower brooch]. [Sorilea] gives [Verin|Verin Mathwin] a small vial and tells her it will help her sleep, but too much can kill.[1] [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] shuts down the blustering [Harine|Harine din Togara Two Winds] and tells [Sarene|Sarene Nemdahl] to take the [Sea Folk] back to their rooms. 

[Sorilea] reports that the last of the nineteen[2] prisoners, [Chisaine Nurbaya], [Janine Pavlara], [Innina Darenhold] and [Vayelle Kamsa] swore to [Rand|Rand alThor] last night. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] is even more suspicious as they are [Red Ajah]. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] thinks one of her bitterest failures was failing to root out the [Black Ajah].[3] Another was failing to learn what [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] was up to until it was too late. [Sorilea] goes to the fireplace to lecture the four sisters there. [Verin|Verin Mathwin] tells [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] that [Bera|Bera Harkin] and [Kiruna|Kiruna Nachiman] got nowhere questioning [Shalon|Shalon din Togara Morning Tide] and [Ailil|Ailil Riatin], so [Verin|Verin Mathwin] gave it a try.[4] They were just covering up the fact that they were pillow friends which would cause both of them great embarrassment. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] tells [Verin|Verin Mathwin] to let them go, but to have [Ailil|Ailil Riatin] report on [Toram Riatin] and [Shalon|Shalon din Togara Morning Tide] report on the [Sea Folk]. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] has already blackmailed the three [Asha'man].[5] 

[Corele|Corele Hovian] then enters. She reports that [Damer|Damer Flinn] [Healed|Weaves] [Irgain|Irgain Fatamed]. She is back to normal.[6] He wants to try the other two who were [stilled|stilling] by [Rand|Rand alThor], [Ronaille|Ronaille Vevanios] and [Sashalle|Sashalle Anderly]. [Irgain|Irgain Fatamed] is ready to swear loyalty to [Rand|Rand alThor] as well. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] began gathering sisters she trusted as soon as she heard about the strange events in [Shienar]. She had eyes-and-ears watching [Siuan|Siuan Sanche] and [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] for years. 

[Jahar|Jahar Narishma] dashes in and announces that [Alanna|Alanna Mosvani] is unconscious. [Jahar|Jahar Narishma] leads the way to [Alanna|Alanna Mosvani]'s room and [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin], [Corele|Corele Hovian], [Sorilea] and [Verin|Verin Mathwin] follow. 

As they leave, [Dobraine|Dobraine Taborwin] comes up. He reports that his armsmen freed Lady [Caraline|Caraline Damodred] and High Lord [Darlin|Darlin Sisnera] from Lady [Arilyn|Arilyn Dhulaine]'s palace. They are on their way to [Tear|Tear (Country)] where [Darlin|Darlin Sisnera] is to be [Rand|Rand alThor]'s steward. There is nothing to be done, so [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] goes on. [Ihvon] and [Merise|Merise Haindehl] are with [Alanna|Alanna Mosvani]. [Corele|Corele Hovian] tries to [Heal|Weaves#h] her but nothing happens. [Merise|Merise Haindehl] says she already tried [Healing|Weaves#h] and it did not work. [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] trusts [Merise|Merise Haindehl] more than any of the other sisters with her. [Verin|Verin Mathwin] looks terrified.[7] [Cadsuane|Cadsuane Melaidhrin] says there is nothing to do but sit and wait for her to wake.

! __Demandred__ POV

[Demandred] is meeting with [Graendal], [Osan'gar|OsanGar] and [Aran'gar|AranGar]. He knows [Semirhage] has a hard time getting to the meetings, but he wonders why [Mesaana] has been missing them. He has an alliance with the two of them that they will not turn on each other until the others are all eliminated. He has a side thought that [view-walls|Age of Legends Items], [shocklances|Age of Legends Items] and [sho-wings|Age of Legends Transportation] can no longer be made outside this place near [Shayol Ghul].[8] 

He is furious that [Rand|Rand alThor] has been reports in lots of different places since the failed attempt in [Cairhien|Cairhien (Country)]. [Osan'gar|OsanGar] frowns when [Demandred] calls them fools and idiots. He says they will succeed the next time. [Aran'gar|AranGar] says that [Osan'gar|OsanGar] and [Demandred] were responsible for watching him. She says her own charge is fully under control.[9] [Graendal] comments that [Aran'gar|AranGar] and the men should be particularly worried if [Rand|Rand alThor] succeeds. [Osan'gar|OsanGar] does not understand why. He says there is no way [Rand|Rand alThor] can successfully remove the [Great Lord|ShaiTan]'s shadow from %%ot [saidin|Said]%%.[10] [Graendal] then says that if [Rand|Rand alThor] succeeds the [Great Lord|ShaiTan] may no longer trust those who [channel|True Source] %%ot [saidin|Said]%%. [Demandred] notes that she is wearing a simple [gold ring]. During the [Shadow War] more than a dozen of the [Chosen|Forsaken] died because of the [Great Lord|ShaiTan]'s suspicion. 

[Moridin] arrives with [Cyndane] and says that the [Great Lord|ShaiTan] knows they are all loyal. [Moridin] is playing with a rat. He comments that [Isam|Isam Mandragoran] is still supposed to find and kill [Fain|Padan Fain]. He then vaporizes the rat with the [True Power]. Now that he is [Nae'blis|Forsaken], only [Moridin] is allowed access to the [True Power]. [Cyndane] announces that [Rand|Rand alThor] has two of the [access keys|Control Statues] and intends to use the [Choedan Kal]. The others are shocked and worried, but [Demandred] thinks [Graendal]'s reaction is fake. He thought [Cyndane] was [Lanfear] until [Mesaana] told him that she is weaker than [Lanfear] was.[11] [Moridin] says they will all know when [Rand|Rand alThor] starts to use the [Choedan Kal]. He orders them to take him or kill him if necessary.[12]
