[Weiramon|Weiramon Saniago] is pristine even though he led a charge through the mud followed by [Torean|Torean Andiama], all the other [Tairens|Tear (Country)], and even [Semaradrid|Semaradrid Maravin] and [Gregorin Panar|Gregorin Panar den Lushenos]. [Anaiyella|Anaiyella Narencelona] who was with [Sunamon|Sunamon Haellin] earlier is now with [Weiramon|Weiramon Saniago]. She and [Ailil|Ailil Riatin] did not participate in battle, but their armsmen did. [Anaiyella|Anaiyella Narencelona]'s Master of the Horse was killed. [Aracome] is dead.[1] [Gedwyn|Charl Gedwyn] has the [Asha'man] bringing supply carts. The [Tairens|Tear (Country)], [Cairhienin|Cairhien (Country)] and [Illianers|Illian (Country)] are now mingling. [Nerith|nerith] is defiant, but when [Rand|Rand alThor] says he will hand her over to the [Aes Sedai] she screams in panic and runs. A [soldier|AshaMan], [Varil Nensen|Varil Nensen], gates in. [Rand|Rand alThor] remembers seeing him at the [Black Tower] the first day he gave out pins to [Taim|Mazrim Taim] and the others. [Varil|Varil Nensen] reports that there are more [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)] thirty miles west.

[Furyk Karede] of the [Deathwatch Guard|Seanchan (People)] has a force of over two thousand men and twelve %%ot [sul'dam|Seanchan (People)]%%, but only two %%ot [damane|Seanchan (People)]%%. According to his family, an ancestor of his accompanied [Luthair Paendrag|Luthair Paendrag Mondwin] to [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)] at [Artur Hawkwing]'s command. There are lots of patrols of %%ot [raken]%% and %%ot [morat'torm|Torm]%% scouting the area. Two of his officers are [Jadranka] and [Nadoc]. They think the force against them is at least forty thousand soldiers. Suddenly the ground explodes around them as they are attacked. [Jadranka] foolishly orders a counterattack so [Karede|Furyk Karede] cuts his throat. He orders [Nadoc] to rally the men and fall back. He orders [Anghar] to ride east and report. He suspects High Lady [Suroth|Suroth Sabelle Meldarath] in [Ebou Dar] already knows what is going on.

They have been fighting for five days. [Rand|Rand alThor] is on a ridge with [Dashiva|OsanGar], [Flinn|Damer Flinn], [Ailil|Ailil Riatin] and [Anaiyella|Anaiyella Narencelona]. The rest are down in the valley engaging the enemy. They have now suffered about three hundred casualties. A gateway opens and a [soldier|AshaMan], [Arlen Nalaam], brings another prisoner %%ot [sul'dam|Seanchan (People)]%%. He complains that %%ot [saidin|Said]%% feels strange. [Flinn|Damer Flinn], [Narishma|Jahar Narishma], [Hopwil|Eben Hopwil] and [Morr|Fedwin Morr] have mentioned it also. They now have twenty-three %%ot [sul'dam|Seanchan (People)]%% and two %%ot [damane|Seanchan (People)]%% prisoners.[3] [Rand|Rand alThor] sends [Flinn|Damer Flinn] and [Dashiva|OsanGar] with orders for [Gedwyn|Charl Gedwyn] to push harder. They are concerned about leaving him alone, but [Denharad|denharad] commands [Ailil|Ailil Riatin]'s and [Anaiyella|Anaiyella Narencelona]'s armsmen nearby. [Weiramon|Weiramon Saniago] is to the north, and [Bashere|Davram Bashere] is to the south. Suddenly, [Rand|Rand alThor] is hit in the arm with a crossbow bolt and [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)] attack, from the north. The armsmen fight back while [Ailil|Ailil Riatin] and [Anaiyella|Anaiyella Narencelona] huddle over [Rand|Rand alThor]. He cannot decide if they intend to protect him or if they are considering murdering him. [Bashere|Davram Bashere] and [Gregorin Panar|Gregorin Panar den Lushenos] arrive from the south with [Morr|Fedwin Morr] who [Heals|Weaves#h] [Rand|Rand alThor]. [Weiramon|Weiramon Saniago], still clean, arrives. He claims he saw [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)] advancing on the ridge so he left his post.[4] [Gedwyn|Charl Gedwyn] arrives and reports that all the [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)] are falling back. They have won. [Weiramon|Weiramon Saniago] and [Gedwyn|Charl Gedwyn] recommend pressing on to [Ebou Dar]. [Bashere|Davram Bashere] and [Gregorin|Gregorin Panar den Lushenos] recommend stopping with their current victory.
