[Egwene|Egwene alVere] hastens to the [White Tower] with [Siuan|Siuan Sanche] and [Gawyn|Gawyn Trakand] behind her. Servants meet her and escort her to a preparation room where [Lairain] of the [Brown Ajah] coaches her on the ceremony. [Tesan] stands guard outside the room. [Siuan|Siuan Sanche] reports that [Bryne|Gareth Bryne] has moved the army into the city and they are helping the [Tower Guard|White Tower] put out fires. She tells [Siuan|Siuan Sanche] to have the rebel [Aes Sedai] report to the Sunset Gate to apologize for rebelling. 

When [Egwene|Egwene alVere] is ready, she opens the door to find [Gawyn|Gawyn Trakand] waiting. She tells him to wait, to his displeasure, and goes to the [Hall|Sitters]. She gasps when she sees a large hole in the wall through which she can see [Dragonmount]. There are only eleven [Sitters] including [Saerin|Saerin Asnobar] ([Brown|Brown Ajah]), [Doesine|Doesine Alwain] ([Yellow|Yellow Ajah]), [Yukiri] ([Gray|Gray Ajah]), [Seaine|Seaine Herimon] ([White|White Ajah]) and [Suana|Suana Dragand] ([Yellow|Yellow Ajah]).[1] [Talene|Talene Minly] fled months ago. [Velina|Velina Behar] and [Sedore|Sedore Dajenna] are missing; they were on [Verin|Verin Mathwin]'s list. [Evanellein] is also missing making her a suspect as [Black Ajah]. All three [Red|Red Ajah] [Sitters] are missing. [Duhara|Duhara Basaheen] left some weeks before on a mission for [Elaida|Elaida do Avriny aRoihan].[2] [Javindhra|Javindhra Doraille] and [Pevara|Pevara Tazanovni] just disappeared.[3] 

[Egwene|Egwene alVere] asks [Tesan] if [Silviana|Silviana Brehon] is still imprisoned. She replies yes, but says the [Leane|Leane Sharif] was freed to join the others at the Sunset Gate. [Egwene|Egwene alVere] sends her to bring [Silviana|Silviana Brehon]. [Saerin|Saerin Asnobar] issues the call and [Yukiri], [Seaine|Seaine Herimon] and [Suana|Suana Dragand] stand for her. [Saerin|Saerin Asnobar] then calls for the vote and all rise. [Egwene|Egwene alVere] is raised to the [Amyrlin|Aes Sedai]. [Tesan] returns with [Silviana|Silviana Brehon]. [Egwene|Egwene alVere] berates the [Sitters] for letting [Elaida|Elaida do Avriny aRoihan] destroy the [Tower|White Tower]. She says [Silviana|Silviana Brehon] was the only one brave enough to stand up to her. She offers [Silviana|Silviana Brehon] the position of [Keeper of the Chronicles|Aes Sedai] and she humbly accepts. [Romanda|Romanda Cassin] and [Lelaine|Lelaine Akashi] will be livid when they learn that neither of them will be [Keeper|Aes Sedai]. 

She chastises the [Sitters] again saying they all made mistakes, including herself, but they must now move forward to make the [White Tower] strong. They all move to the Great Square where [Egwene|Egwene alVere] addresses all the rebels and most of the others in the [White Tower]. She admonishes the rebels then tells them they must work hard to rebuild. The [White Tower] will once again be whole and complete. The [Aes Sedai] cheer as [Egwene|Egwene alVere] thinks how much work needs to be done.
