! __Perrin__ POV

[Perrin|Perrin Aybara], [Mat|Matrim Cauthon] and [Hurin] are in a village. They have been through several villages searching for [Fain|Padan Fain]'s trail. [Hurin] finally locates it. As they prepare to leave, a band of [Whitecloaks|Children of the Light] ride into town. They hastily ride west. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] contacts some nearby wolves and identifies himself as [Young Bull|Perrin Aybara]. The wolves report that the [Whitecloaks|Children of the Light] are not following. They decide to follow the trail a bit longer, then report back to [Ingtar|Ingtar Shinowa] and %%brown [Verin|Verin Mathwin]%%.

! __Geofram Bornhald__ POV

In the village, [Geofram Bornhald] spots [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] and recognizes him. He has a thousand men with him. [Byar|Jaret Byar] reports that the village is secure. [Bornhald|Geofram Bornhald] recalls losing fifty men in a skirmish with the [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)] and that one of the two women they killed must have been [Aes Sedai].[1] He does not expect to survive the coming conflict so he orders [Byar|Jaret Byar] to stay back, observe, and carry word to [Dain Bornhald] who is with [Eamon Valda] at [Tar Valon], then to [Pedron Niall] in [Amador]. He tells [Byar|Jaret Byar] that he recognized [Perrin|Perrin Aybara].[2] He thinks the [Aes Sedai] are openly supporting the [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)]. Unseen, a flying creature[3] and its rider watch from above.

! __Rand__ POV

[Rand|Rand alThor] waits in the camp with [Loial], %%brown [Verin|Verin Mathwin]%%, [Ingtar|Ingtar Shinowa], [Uno|Uno Nomesta] and the rest of the [Shienarans|Shienar]. He is working sword forms. [Verin|Verin Mathwin] is working out something. [Hurin], [Mat|Matrim Cauthon] and [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] return with news of [Fain|Padan Fain] and the [Whitecloaks|Children of the Light]. [Ingtar|Ingtar Shinowa] says he will take some men into [Falme] to get the [Horn|Horn of Valere]. [Hurin], [Mat|Matrim Cauthon], [Rand|Rand alThor] and [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] volunteer. [Uno|Uno Nomesta] and others volunteer as well, but [Verin|Verin Mathwin] says five will go.[4] [Verin|Verin Mathwin] implies that %%ot [damane|Seanchan (People)]%% might detect a man [channeling|True Source],[5] apparently a warning to [Rand|Rand alThor]. The five prepare to ride to [Falme]. [Ingtar|Ingtar Shinowa] orders [Uno|Uno Nomesta] to have the others follow behind them.

! Notes (Possible Spoilers)

[#1] Actually a %%ot [sul'dam|Seanchan (People)]%% and %%ot [damane|Seanchan (People)]%%. [Byar|Jaret Byar] will report this to [Pedron Niall] as proof that the [Seanchan|Seanchan (People)] are [Darkfriends]. ([TDR,Prologue])\\
[#2] Convincing [Jaret Byar] that [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] is responsible for betraying the [Whitecloaks|Children of the Light] at [Falme]. ([TDR,Prologue])\\
[#3] A %%ot [raken]%%.\\
[#4] [Verin|Verin Mathwin] is thinking of the part of the ''[Karaethon Cycle|Karaethon Prophecies]'' that says, "Five ride forth, four return. Above the watchers shall he proclaim himself, bannered cross the sky in fire." The same that [Vandene|Vandene Namelle] cites to [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] in [TGH,Ch22].\\
[#5] Women cannot detect men [channeling|True Source] at all. Is [Verin|Verin Mathwin] just wrong or is she intentionally deceiving [Rand|Rand alThor]?\\
