Houses [Damodred|Cairhien (Country)] and [Riatin|Cairhien (Country)] are bitter rivals. The following signs are given, House [Damodred|Cairhien (Country)] - Tree and Crown, [Barthanes|Barthanes Damodred]'s personal sign - Charging Boar, [Galldrian|Galldrian su Riatin Rie]'s personal sign - Stag. [Hurin] convinces [Rand|Rand alThor] not to burn these. [Rand|Rand alThor] and [Loial] go to the gatehouse again to ask about [Ingtar|Ingtar Shinowa] and [Selene|Lanfear]. [Rand|Rand alThor] spots Captain [Caldevwin|Aldrin Caldevwin] in the back, but the guard denies that he is there. On the way back, [Rand|Rand alThor] wonders if he can survive as long as [Owyn] did. They find the [Defender of the Dragonwall] in flames. [Rand|Rand alThor] and [Loial] rescue [Hurin] and the [Dragon Banner] but the [Horn|Horn of Valere] and [ruby dagger|Ruby Dagger] are gone. [Mat|Matrim Cauthon], [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] and [Ingtar|Ingtar Shinowa] arrive. [Rand|Rand alThor] tells them that they are too late.
