__[Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara]__ POV - [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] is packing. She takes the gems [Amathera|Amathera Aelfdene Casmir Lounault] gave them, the packs of herbs she took from [Ronde Macura], half the purses of money and the [seal|Seals]. She can feel evil oozing from it. Of course she has the [twisted ring] and [Lan|al'Lan Mandragoran]'s ring. She sees the [silver arrow|../items/silver_arrow] and thinks again of losing to [Moghedien]. [Elayne|Elayne Trakand] comes in and packs. She packs the silver arrow, the other half of the money, the [iron disc|../items/iron_disc] and the [amber plaque|../items/amber_plaque]. Unlike the [twisted ring], the [iron disc|../items/iron_disc] and [amber plaque|../items/amber_plaque] require [channeling|True Source] [Spirit|One Power]. Outside, [Thom|Thom Merrilin], [Juilin|Juilin Sandar], [Galad|Galad Damodred], [Uno|Uno Nomesta] and [Birgitte|Birgitte Trahelion] are waiting. [Aludra|aludra] wishes them a safe journey. [Petra|petra], the Chavanas, and [ Kin|../characters/k/kin] and [ Bari|../characters/b/bari2] offer to help escort them, but the girls say no thanks. Even [Latelle|latelle] says goodbye. [Cerandin|cerandin] is not there. [Luca|Valan Luca] gives [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] some flowers before they leave. As they leave, [Ragan] and the rest of the [Shienarans|Shienar] join them. Still angry, [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] rushes ahead until [Birgitte|Birgitte Trahelion] catches her muttering about [Carpan|birgitte.html#s] girls leaping from a river cliff.[1] They make their way to [Samara|../../geography/ghealdan/samara/index]. It is a madhouse and they are attacked by a mob. [Elayne|Elayne Trakand] and [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] embrace %%ot [saidar|Said]%% but are afraid to [channel|True Source] for fear of attracting more attention and possibly alerting [Moghedien] and the [Black Ajah].[2] They drive off the men killing many of them. [Galad|Galad Damodred] does most of the damage. Nearly everyone is wounded in the fight. As they continue [Thom|Thom Merrilin] recites the story of [Kirukan|kirukan], the beautiful soldier queen of the [Trolloc Wars]. Two dozen [Whitecloaks|Children of the Light] join them and escort them to the boat, the ''[Riverserpent]''. There is a crowd of refugees at the dock. [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] forces the captain, [Agni Neres|../characters/a/agni_neres], to take all the refugees as well.[3] He complains saying he gives alms on [Firstday|../main/calendar]. [Galad|Galad Damodred] says he has paid their way to [Boannda], half way to [Altara] where the River [Boern|../geography/rivers/boern] runs into the [Eldar|../geography/rivers/eldar]. As the boat pulls away, [Galad|Galad Damodred] bleakly tells them to stay clear of [Rand|Rand alThor]. He ''will'' break the world again before he is done.
