The next morning [Rand|Rand alThor] finally reaches the village and smells smoke. [Emond's Field|Emonds Field] was also attacked by [Trollocs] and several houses were burned. He runs into [Haral Luhhan] who calls for [Egwene|Egwene alVere]. She takes him to [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara]. The [Calder] house is okay, but [Berin Thane]'s (the miller's brother) and [Abell Cauthon]'s houses are burned. [Mat|Matrim Cauthon] is okay. [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] cannot help [Tam|Tam alThor] so he takes [Tam|Tam alThor] to the inn. [Fain|Padan Fain]'s wagon burned and he disappeared. [Bela] came to the village on her own. [Thom|Thom Merrilin] and [Bran|Brandelwyn alVere] help [Rand|Rand alThor] bring [Tam|Tam alThor] upstairs. Someone scrawled a Dragon's Fang on the inn door. [Bran|Brandelwyn alVere] suspects [Darl Coplin], a troublemaker. [Thom|Thom Merrilin] subtly directs the conversation to [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] and [Aes Sedai] even though he mistrusts them. [Bran|Brandelwyn alVere] notes that [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] and her balls of fire and [Lan|al'Lan Mandragoran] and his sword saved the village. [Rand|Rand alThor] goes to ask [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] to [Heal|Weaves] [Tam|Tam alThor]. [Lan|al'Lan Mandragoran] picks a red trident pin off a [Trolloc|Trollocs] and says he was of the [Ko'bal|Trollocs] band. That makes seven different bands. There were about a hundred, a fist. [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] asks [Rand|Rand alThor] about his dreams and says she can help if they are bad. Both [Thom|Thom Merrilin] and [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] already respect [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara]. [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] has an %%ot [angreal|Angreal]%%. She agrees to try to help [Tam|Tam alThor]. [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] tells [Lan|al'Lan Mandragoran] they have a small reason to celebrate.[1]
