He recommends a nearby Wise Woman, Mother [Guenna|Ailhuin Guenna]![1] [Mat|Matrim Cauthon] drags [Thom|Thom Merrilin] over there and notes three fine horses tied in the back. Mother [Guenna|Ailhuin Guenna] gives [Thom|Thom Merrilin] a horrible concoction to drink. [Mat|Matrim Cauthon] thinks Mother [Guenna|Ailhuin Guenna] sounds like [Siuan|Siuan Sanche][2] and comments on her accent. Mother [Guenna|Ailhuin Guenna] replies that she knows two girls that sound like [Mat|Matrim Cauthon]. A few moments later it is clear that they are [Egwene|Egwene alVere] and [Nynaeve|Nynaeve alMeara] along with [Elayne|Elayne Trakand]. Mother [Guenna|Ailhuin Guenna] finally breaks down and tells him that, on orders of High Lord [Samon|BeLal], they were taken by [Aes Sedai][3] to the [Stone of Tear] only three hours ago. [Mat|Matrim Cauthon] thanks her, asks her to look after [Thom|Thom Merrilin], and heads back to [The White Crescent]. The dice are tumbling inside his head.[4]
