There is long standing animosity between [Red|Red Ajah] and [Blue|Blue Ajah]. The [Blue Ajah] is also a bit at odds with the [White|White Ajah] and [Yellow|Yellow Ajah] over something in [Altara] a hundred years before.[1] The [Brown Ajah] supports the [White|White Ajah] against the [Blue|Blue Ajah], but supports the [Blue|Blue Ajah] against the [Yellow|Yellow Ajah]. It is far more complicated than %%ot Daes Dae'mar%%.

%%blue [Lelaine|Lelaine Akashi]%%, %%blue [Natasia]%% and %%blule [Anaiya]%% teach them weaves restricted to [Aes Sedai] such as bonding a [Warder|Warder] and secret weaves known only to the [Blue Ajah]. [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] has her own secret weave that she learned on her own.[2] They also learn the method of concentration to ignore heat and cold.

The turning of the year and the [Feast of Lights|Calendar] arrive. All rooms of the [White Tower] are brightly lit. [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] receives invitations from two dozen [Cairhienin|Cairhien (Country)] Houses, but she burns them all. [Tamore|Tamore Alkohima] delivers the first dresses on the first day of the [Feast of Lights|Calendar]. 

[Siuan|Siuan Sanche] grows more and more frustrated working for %%blue [Cetalia|Cetalia Delarme]%%. [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred]'s time is spent doing paperwork for distributing the bounty. The day after the [Feast of Lights|Calendar], [Ellid|Ellid Abareim] tests for the shawl, but she never returns from the [oval ring]. %%red [Elaida|Elaida do Avriny aRoihan]%% returns to [Andor]. She is as strong as they will eventually become, equal to [Lelaine|Lelaine Akashi]. %%blue [Lelaine|Lelaine Akashi]%% and [Siuan|Siuan Sanche] get along well while [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] and %%blue [Anaiya]%% become friends. They also resume their [Accepted] friendship with %%blue [Leane|Leane Sharif]%% and also with %%blue [Adine Canford]%%. 

One by one, %%white [Meilyn|Meilyn Arganya]%%, %%green [Kerene|Kerene Nagashi]%%, %%gray [Aisha|Aisha Raveneos]%%, %%yellow [Ludice|Ludice Daneen]%% and %%brown [Valera|Valera Gorovni]%% leave the [White Tower] to begin their hunt. [Siuan|Siuan Sanche] develops on interest in her job.[3] [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] and [Siuan|Siuan Sanche] manage to bake pies, but they make %%blue [Aeldra|Aeldra Najaf]%% sick much to %%blue [Kairen|Kairen Stang]%% and [Anaiya]'s amusement. 

A week after [Ellid|Ellid Abareim], on [High Chasaline|Calendar], %%blue [Sheriam|Sheriam Bayanar]%% is tested and passes. [Siuan|Siuan Sanche] is pleased when she manages the sixth kiss; [Sheriam|Sheriam Bayanar] is a very good cook. [High Chasaline|Calendar] is the [Day of Reflection|Calendar] in [Cairhien|Cairhien (City)]. [Siuan|Siuan Sanche] wants to include [Sheriam|Sheriam Bayanar] in their secret, but [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] refuses because she is such a gossip.[4] 

Three days later %%yellow [Ryma Galfrey]%% enters the dining hall at breakfast. Weaving [Air|One Power] and [Fire|One Power] to amplify her voice, she announces that %%amyrlin [Tamra|Tamra Ospenya]%% died in her sleep.[5] [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred]'s first thought is how to take advantage, then she regrets it. As personal penance, she wears a very light, inappropriate dress to the funeral to humiliate herself. The next day %%gray [Sierin Vayu]%% of the [Gray Ajah] is raised to the [Amyrlin|Aes Sedai] and she starts her rule with an iron hand. All male clerks are dismissed from the [White Tower]. Three sisters are exiled for a year and two are birched. Breaking tradition, she selects [Red Ajah] sisters, %%red [Amira|Amira Moselle]%% as [Mistress of Novices|Aes Sedai] and %%red [Duhara|Duhara Basaheen]%% as [Keeper of the Chronicles|Aes Sedai]. 

[Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] goes to %%amyrlin [Sierin|Sierin Vayu]%% asking to be relieved of the bounty duty. [Sierin|Sierin Vayu] agrees, but she commands [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] to stay in [Tar Valon] until she is needed. At this, [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] makes up her mind to leave. She says goodbye to [Siuan|Siuan Sanche]. She shared a rough itinerary so [Siuan|Siuan Sanche] can find her if needed. She then goes out for a "ride." %%blue [Kairen|Kairen Stang]%%, %%blue [Sheriam|Sheriam Bayanar]%% and %%blue [Eadyth]%% note her departure, but she tells them she does not plan to cross a bridge. She rides [Arrow] to her bank and picks up letters-of-rights and coin from Mistress [Dormaile|Ilain Dormaile]. Guards accompany her to the seamstress where she picks up her dresses from [Tamore|Tamore Alkohima]. She then heads to [Northharbor|Tar Valon] and finds a rivership, the ''[Bluewing]''. Captain [Carney] tells her it is the fastest ship on the river. As they leave the dock, [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] sees [Gorthanes|Ries Gorthanes] talking to the harbormistress and looking at her ship. She has set off on the grandest adventure ever.
