Early the next morning [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] prepares for the raising ceremony.[1] There is a knock on her door. Seven [Aes Sedai] are there to escort her. They include %%red [Elaida|Elaida do Avriny aRoihan]%% for the [Red|Red Ajah] and %%green [Jeaine|Jeaine Caide]%% for the [Green|Green Ajah]. They proceed to [Siuan|Siuan Sanche]'s room and bring her as well. They return to the chamber where they were tested where %%amyrlin [Tamra|Tamra Ospenya]%%, %%blue [Aeldra|Aeldra Najaf]%%, the [Sitters] and two more [Aes Sedai] of each [Ajah|Aes Sedai] await. Each of the extra [Aes Sedai] bears a shawl for [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] and [Siuan|Siuan Sanche] to choose.[2] They step through [oval ring] and approach [Tamra|Tamra Ospenya]. [Tamra|Tamra Ospenya] takes the [Oath Rod] from [Aeldra|Aeldra Najaf], places it in [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred]'s hands and [channels|True Source] [Spirit|One Power]. [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] speaks the three oaths:

# "I vow that I will speak no word that is not true."
# "I vow that I will make no weapon for one man to kill another."
# "I vow that I will never use the [One Power] as a weapon except against [Shadowspawn], or in the last extreme of defending my life or that of my [Warder|Warder] or of another sister."

and at each one she feels her skin tighten to the point of pain. [Tamra|Tamra Ospenya] repeats the process with [Siuan|Siuan Sanche]. As they both walk toward the [Blue Ajah] sisters to choose their shawls, [Tamra|Tamra Ospenya] and the sisters of the other [Ajahs|Aes Sedai] depart, though [Aeldra|Aeldra Najaf] remains. %%blue [Leane|Leane Sharif]%% lays the shawl on %%blue [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred]'s%% shoulders and %%blue [Rafela|Rafela Cindal]%% does the same for %%blue [Siuan|Siuan Sanche]%%.[3] The [Sitters], %%blue [Eadyth]%%, %%blue [Anlee]%% and %%blue [Lelaine|Lelaine Akashi]%%, welcome them to the [Blue Ajah]. [Aeldra|Aeldra Najaf], being the sixth to welcome them, claims a hand made pie from each. 

[Eadyth] charges [Leane|Leane Sharif] and [Rafela|Rafela Cindal] to escort [Moiraine|Moiraine Damodred] and [Siuan|Siuan Sanche] to tour the [White Tower] as [Aes Sedai] and enter the [Blue Ajah] quarters. Ancient custom was to parade through the [White Tower] clad only in the shawl, but [Leane|Leane Sharif] quickly forgoes the tradition. [Leane|Leane Sharif] was [Accepted] with them for a time. [Rafela|Rafela Cindal] was raised the year before [Leane|Leane Sharif],[3] but strangely she defers to [Leane|Leane Sharif].[4] [Leane|Leane Sharif] reminds [Rafela|Rafela Cindal] how %%brown [Verin|Verin Mathwin]%% embarrassed her on her walk, telling her she had a sweet voice for singing. [Leane|Leane Sharif] reveals the secret title of the head of the [Blue Ajah], the [First Selector|Blue Ajah]. [Rafela|Rafela Cindal] regales them with a list of arcane [Blue Ajah] customs, including that they should refrain from marrying. [Blue|Blue Ajah] is the second smallest [Ajah|Aes Sedai] after [White|White Ajah]. They enter the [Blue Ajah] quarters to find the hall lined with every [Blue|Blue Ajah] sister in [Tar Valon], all but [Aeldra|Aeldra Najaf] wearing their shawl.
