[Elayne|Elayne Trakand] is tied, gagged and blindfolded in the wagon. She still is not worried because of [Min|Min Farshaw]'s [viewing|viewings] that her babes will be born healthy. She is elated when she feels [Birgitte|Birgitte Trahelion] leap from miles behind to a mile ahead. She feels concern in the bond and knows men are dying for her as did [Vandene|Vandene Namelle] and [Sareitha|Sareitha Tomares]. She feels a lightning strike then the shield on her vanishes. She feels [Spirit|One Power] and [Air|One Power]; her captors are now shielded and bound. 

[Birgitte|Birgitte Trahelion] enters the wagon and unties her, telling her that [Chanelle|Chanelle din Seran White Shark] helped for fear of losing [Zaida|Zaida din Parede Blackwing]'s bargain. Nearby [Queen's Guards|Caemlyn] carry her personal sigil, the Golden Lily, as well as the White Lion of [Andor]. [Charlz Guybon] bows to her. [Asne|Asne Zeramene] is dead. [Shiaine|Mili Skane], [Chesmal|Chesmal Emry], [Eldrith|Eldrith Jhondar], [Falion|Falion Bhoda], [Marillin|Marillin Gemalphin] and [Temaile|Temaile Kinderode] are bound with [Air|One Power]. By the way they struggle, three bound men were [Asne|Asne Zeramene]'s [Warder].[1] 

[Caseille|Caseille Raskovni] and the Guardswomen begin loading the [Black Ajah] into the wagon. [Birgitte|Birgitte Trahelion] updates [Elayne|Elayne Trakand] in the battle situation. [Arymilla|Arymilla Marne] and her army are at the [Far Madding Gate|Caemlyn]. [Luan|Luan Norwelyn] and the others are heading to [Caemlyn]. [Elayne|Elayne Trakand] received military training like [Gawyn|Gawyn Trakand] from [Gareth Bryne]. [Tzigan|Tzigan Sokorin] brings her a horse. After [Elayne|Elayne Trakand] makes a new bargain that they will do nothing but provide transportation, [Chanelle|Chanelle din Seran White Shark] and the [Windfinders|Sea Folk] make a new gateway to south of the [Far Madding Gate|Caemlyn]. [Elayne|Elayne Trakand] can see that the gates are still closed so [Dyelin|Dyelin Taravin] succeeded in her defense. [Birgitte|Birgitte Trahelion] thinks they will need [Mat Cauthon|Matrim Cauthon]'s luck. 

As [Guybon|Charlz Guybon] leads his force to attack from behind, the gates open and [Dyelin|Dyelin Taravin]'s force attacks from the front. She sees [Conail|Conail Northan], [Branlet|Branlet Gilyard] and [Perival|Perival Mantear] ride out from the gate. [Dyelin|Dyelin Taravin] holds back [Catalyn|Catalyn Haevin]. After a bloody battle [Arymilla|Arymilla Marne]'s army surrenders at midmorning. The lesser nobles are escorted into the city to be held for ransom. 

The Guardsmen bring [Arymilla|Arymilla Marne], [Naean|Naean Arawn] and [Elenia|Elenia Sarand] before [Elayne|Elayne Trakand]. Already deep in debt, their ransoms will ruin them. [Arymilla|Arymilla Marne] threatens her with [Jarid|Jarid Sarand], but [Elenia|Elenia Sarand] says he will just preserve House [Sarand|Andor]. [Lir Baryn], [Karind Anshar] and [Sylvase Caeren] appear next. [Sylvase|Sylvase Caeren] announces that [Nasin|Nasin Caeren] is dead, she is now High Seat and she stands for [Trakand|Andor]. She offers her new secretary, [Jaq Lounalt], to help convince the others but [Elayne|Elayne Trakand] declines. [Lir|Lir Baryn] and [Karind|Karind Anshar] also announce for [Trakand|Andor]. [Elayne|Elayne Trakand] now has nine of the ten Houses she needs.[2]
