It is almost noon and there is incessant thunder. [Rolan], [Kinhuin] and [Jhoradin] have cleared some of the stairway. [Rolan] helps them climb out one at a time, [Faile|Zarine Bashere], then [Maighdin|Morgase Trakand], [Arrela|Arrela Shiego], [Lacile|Lacile Aldorwin] and [Alliandre|Alliandre Maritha Kigarin]. In the street there are a hundred or more of the people who swore fealty to [Faile|Zarine Bashere]. [Aravine|Aravine Carnel] hands her a waterskin. She can see that the sky is clear, there is a [One Power] battle going on. [Jhoradin] helps [Lacile|Lacile Aldorwin] and [Aldin] helps [Arrela|Arrela Shiego], though she does not like men. After drinking, [Maighdin|Morgase Trakand] collapses.[1] [Rolan] says he will hide [Faile|Zarine Bashere] until nightfall then take her to the forest to escape. [Aldin] carries [Maighdin|Morgase Trakand] as they walk through [Malden] followed by [Theril].

! __Perrin__ POV

[Perrin|Perrin Aybara] is only a hundred paces from the gates. As he fights two [Shaido], [Aram] attacks him. [Masema|Masema Dagar] convinced him that [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] and [Elyas|Elyas Machera] are [Shadowspawn]. He intends to kill [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] to save [Faile|Zarine Bashere]. A [Shaido] arrow kills [Aram] while he is focused on [Perrin|Perrin Aybara]. Turning a corner, he sees a horde of people in white led by three veiled [Shaido][2] %%ot [algai'd'siswai]%%. One, much bigger than [Lamgwin|Lamgwin Dorn], pulls [Faile|Zarine Bashere]. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] leaps at him and kills him with his hammer. [Faile|Zarine Bashere] and [Lacile|Lacile Aldorwin] stab the other two in the back. [Faile|Zarine Bashere] smells guilty so [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] thinks she was raped. 

[Perrin|Perrin Aybara] tells them all to head north, the safest direction.[3] He sends [Theril] to the fortress to tell [Ban|Ban alSeen], [Seonid|Seonid Traighan] and the others they can come out now. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] and [Faile|Zarine Bashere] share stories on [Galina|Galina Casban] and figure she must be [Black Ajah]. They all return in a quarter hour. [Selande|Selande Darengil] and the other %%ot [Cha Faile]%% cluster around [Faile|Zarine Bashere]. [Rovair Kirklin] goes to find [Masuri|Masuri Sokawa]. [Tallanvor|Martyn Tallanvor] cradles [Maighdin|Morgase Trakand]. [Gaul] goes to find [Chiad] and [Elyas|Elyas Machera] accompanies him. [Furen|Furen Alharra] and [Teryl|Teryl Wynter] are with [Seonid|Seonid Traighan]. She [Heals|Weaves#h] [Perrin|Perrin Aybara], then [Faile|Zarine Bashere]. She hears [Faile|Zarine Bashere] mention [Galina|Galina Casban]. After hearing the story, [Seonid|Seonid Traighan] claims the right to try her in the [White Tower]. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] is irate but [Faile|Zarine Bashere] reminds him how he required formal proof when [Jon Thane] accused [Jac Coplin] and [Len Congar] of stealing a cow. 

The battle is now over. [Tylee|Tylee Khirgan] rides up. She has [Sevanna] naked and tied across her horse. Most of [Masema|Masema Dagar]'s men on the east ridge are dead. The %%ot [sul'dam|Seanchan (People)]%% already collared over two hundred [Shaido] [Wise Ones|Aiel]. [Masema|Masema Dagar] escaped with a hundred of his men. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara]'s forces had only light casualties. [Faile|Zarine Bashere] claims [Sevanna]'s wealth to help restore the hundred thousand prisoners the [Shaido] took. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] introduces [Faile|Zarine Bashere] and [Alliandre|Alliandre Maritha Kigarin] to [Tylee|Tylee Khirgan] and reminds her that [Ghealdan] is under his protection. They need to get going before the other two [Shaido] septs arrive.[4] [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] thought he was making a deal with the [Dark One|ShaiTan] but now he thinks of [Tylee|Tylee Khirgan] as a friend.

! __Galina__ POV

[Galina|Galina Casban] retrieves her stash and packs [Swift|Swift (Horse)]'s saddlebags. Out in the woods, she is in the middle of changing clothes when [Therava] finds her. She gets the [binder|Oath Rod] back. Other [Wise Ones|Aiel] arrive including [Belinde] and [Modarra]. They have several hundred [Shaido] with them. [Therava] says the [Shaido] will regroup and return to the [Three-fold Land|Aiel Waste], never to leave again. They will rebuild even though it will take generations. [Galina|Galina Casban] is broken; she will be [Therava]'s little [Lina|Galina Casban] for the rest of her life.
