Returning to [Dumai's Wells|Dumais Wells] he thinks of the casualties: nineteen [Two Rivers] men, a hundred [Mayeners|Mayene], more [Cairhienin|Cairhien (Country)], a thousand [Aiel]. [Loial] can barely stand being there, but [Aram] is grinning. Also killed were three [Aes Sedai],[1] six [Warder], lots of wolves, and lots and lots of [Shaido]. Lord [Dobraine|Dobraine Taborwin] Taborwin heads the [Cairhienin|Cairhien (Country)], Lord Lieutenant [Havien Nurelle] heads the [Mayeners|Mayene]. [Cairhienin|Cairhien (Country)] officers have ''con'' with two white diamonds on a blue field. [Mazrim Taim], and [Min|Min Farshaw] are with [Rand|Rand alThor] who is wearing only a white shirt, no coat. [Nandera] and [Sulin] are leading the [Maidens|Maidens of the Spear]. [Kiruna Nachiman], sister to King [Paitar|Paitar Neramovni Nachiman] of [Arafel], and [Bera Harkin] lead seven other sisters with [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] including [Verin Mathwin] and [Alanna Mosvani]. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] does not know why she looks haggard.[2] Five of the nine are [Green Ajah]. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] does not trust any of them. [Charl Gedwyn], cocky, full [Asha'man]. He heads about a dozen [Asha'man] keeping an eye on the sisters. 

[Rand|Rand alThor] is rechecking to make sure he did not miss any [Maidens|Maidens of the Spear] who were killed, [Isan] of the [Jarra|Jarra (Sept)] [Chareen], [Chuonde] of the [Spine Ridge] [Miagoma], [Agirin] of the [Shelan] [Daryne], 151 total. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] chides [Kiruna|Kiruna Nachiman] for entering the fight, she says they had to be in danger to help. [Jondyn|Jondyn Barran] and [Tod|Tod alCaar] are still with [Perrin|Perrin Aybara]. As [Rand|Rand alThor], [Taim|Mazrim Taim], and [Min|Min Farshaw] approach, [Gedwyn|Charl Gedwyn] shakes his head at [Taim|Mazrim Taim] and [Taim|Mazrim Taim] frowns.[3] [Amys] and [Sorilea] confer with the other [Wise Ones|Aiel]. [Nurelle|Havien Nurelle] is about the same age as [Perrin|Perrin Aybara]. [Dobraine|Dobraine Taborwin] is graying. All talking to [Rand|Rand alThor] about who will hold the [Aes Sedai] prisoners.[1] [Sorilea] calls them %%ot [da'tsang|Old Tongue]%% ("despised"). [Rand|Rand alThor] gives them to the [Wise Ones|Aiel]. [Rhuarc] returns from a night's scouting, says the [Shaido] are running east, some women with green coated men to the north. He and [Gaul] are the only [Aiel] men not wearing %%ot [siswai'aman|siswaiAman]%% headbands. [Rand|Rand alThor] is still angry that [Galina|Galina Casban] escaped. When [Rand|Rand alThor] expresses anger at and distrust of the [Aes Sedai] [Taim|Mazrim Taim] smells amused.[4] [Rand|Rand alThor] agrees to be healed and points behind him to [Alanna|Alanna Mosvani]. [Taim|Mazrim Taim] smells puzzled.[4] [Kiruna|Kiruna Nachiman] [Healed|Weaves] [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] yesterday. 

As they begin to leave, [Amys] whispers something to [Sorilea] that really startles the [Aes Sedai].[5] Rand tells Taim to "remember what I said about recruiting." to which Taim replies "I can hardly forget...I will handle that trip personally."[6] [Taim|Mazrim Taim] convinces [Rand|Rand alThor] to keep a [Asha'man] with him along with the four [soldiers|AshaMan] and four [Dedicated|AshaMan].[7] [Rand|Rand alThor] randomly chooses [Corlan Dashiva|OsanGar] from a [Black Hills] farm. This surprises both of [Rand|Rand alThor] and [Taim|Mazrim Taim].[8] [Taim|Mazrim Taim] wanted [Torval|Peral Torval] or [Rochaid|Manel Rochaid]. 

[Rand|Rand alThor] tells [Taim|Mazrim Taim] to take the [Asha'man] back to the [Black Tower] and tells [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] to get everyone else ready to leave. [Taim|Mazrim Taim] calls for those two and [Gedwyn|Charl Gedwyn] and [Kisman|Raefar Kisman].[9] Two more of the [Two Rivers] folk, [Dannil Lewin], [Taraboner|Tarabon] style moustache, and cousin [Ban al'Seen] beanpole, [Domani|Arad Doman] style moustache. [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] rejoins [Rand|Rand alThor] and [Min|Min Farshaw] and warns [Rand|Rand alThor] of all the bad feelings. [Rand|Rand alThor] does not know about [Perrin|Perrin Aybara] and the wolves. [Min|Min Farshaw]'s viewing started at twelve; she did not know it was unique. Her aunts [Rana], [Miren], [Jan] made her stop telling. [Min|Min Farshaw] has a [viewing|viewings]:

* "[Taim|Mazrim Taim] has blood in his past and blood in his future, he's a dangerous man."

The [Asha'man] are gathering images like [Aes Sedai], but they are blurry because they are holding the [One Power]. It is also true with [Aes Sedai] and worse when they [channel|True Source]. Something there was important, but she could not pick it out. [Loial] comes up and wants [Rand|Rand alThor]'s account for his notes. [Dashiva|OsanGar] moves funny and tilts his head. [Rand|Rand alThor] asks if he can make a gateway and he says, "Of course." He calls [Taim|Mazrim Taim] [M'Hael|Mazrim Taim] ("leader" in [Old Tongue]). He explains it saying he read a great deal on the farm. They prepare to [Travel|Weaves] back to [Cairhien|Cairhien (City)].
